Segundo álbum de estudio de la banda estadounidense de thrash metal METALLICA, publicado en julio de 1984. «Ride the Lightning» es considerado como un álbum de thrash metal clásico por los fanes, críticos y miembros de la banda.
Mantiene la esencia y velocidad de su debut en canciones como «Trapped Under Ice» y «Fight Fire with Fire»; sin embargo, también contiene canciones de aires complejos y lentos como «Fade to Black» y «The Call of Ktulu».
